Jacobs is focused on solving the world’s most critical problems by turning abstract ideas into real‑world solutions. We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Developer for our growing UK Digital & Data team.

As a Geospatial Developer you will design and build modern web‑based mapping applications that support infrastructure and environmental programmes. You will work alongside developers, data specialists and geospatial experts to deliver user‑focused, scalable, and robust solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop intuitive user interfaces and interactive geospatial tools.
  • Build web‑mapping applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and mapping libraries such as Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers or Esri APIs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions are robust, scalable and user‑centric.
  • Mentor junior developers, share knowledge and help shape team best practice.
  • Engage with clients to translate technical solutions into meaningful outcomes.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong front‑end development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
  • Expertise with web mapping technologies such as Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers or Esri APIs.
  • Experience building user‑focused web applications and working with modern frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with APIs, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) or spatial databases is beneficial.
  • Exposure to mentoring or client‑facing delivery is an advantage.

Security & Vetting
