Overview
As an Ecologist in Jacobs’ UK Ecology Team, you deliver impactful environmental work on infrastructure projects across the UK. You’ll contribute to desk and field tasks, including protected species surveys and assessments, within multidisciplinary teams. You will engage with clients, regulators and colleagues to ensure ecological requirements are understood and integrated. Responsibilities
- Deliver challenging infrastructure projects with ecological input across the UK
- Conduct protected species surveys and support Ecological Clerk of Works
- Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain work
- Work within multidisciplinary teams and build rapport to embed ecology requirements
- Engage with internal/external clients and environmental regulators
Key requirements
- Background in terrestrial ecology with practical reporting and impact assessment experience
- Associate membership of CIEEM (or equivalent or ability to obtain)
- Experienced ecology surveyor with strong field capabilities
- Ability to write clear, concise reports
- Curiosity and willingness to learn, strong teamwork, and hands-on work ethic
- Driving licence (desirable)
- Technical specialization in terrestrial ecology; interest in habitats, birds and ornithology
