Your impact

As a key member of our Bridges and Structures team, you will help lead our transformation into a solutions‐focused provider, leveraging new technologies, digital processes, and lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and deliver greater value to our clients. With a strong focus on sustainability and decarbonisation, you will apply your advanced technical engineering, interpersonal, and organisational skills to support the delivery of structural solutions across highways, rail, aviation, energy, and power sectors.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor teams in structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, and the production of contract documents and technical reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated services and high‐quality outcomes for clients.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing data‐driven, automated, and standardised solutions to improve project efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with our UK and Global Integrated Delivery teams to optimise resources and ensure successful project delivery.

Our Structural Solutions capability sits within Jacobs’ wider Transportation business, where we take pride in delivering technically complex schemes both in the UK and internationally. Our team has built a strong reputation through a portfolio of high‐profile projects with clients including High Speed 2, National Highways, Network Rail, Welsh Government, National Contractors & Local Authorities.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)
  • A professional qualification
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and time management skills
  • Project management and leadership skills related to bridge design (or other disciplines)
  • Strong technical design and practical problem‐solving skills

Candidates may have a background in bridge design; however, we are equally interested to hear from candidates from other disciplines and industries. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in asset management, structures renewals and post‐tensioned structures, including post‐tensioned special inspections (PTSI).

As a disability‐confident employer, we will interview disabled candidates who best meet the criteria. We welcome applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working and from those who may not meet all the listed requirements for this role. If you require further support or reasonable adjustments with regards to the recruitment process, please contact the team via Careers Support.
