We are looking for a Bridges & Structures Civil Engineering apprentice to join our Hertfordshire office. The role will take part in the full project lifecycle, from options analysis through design to on‑site support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with planning and conducting bridge inspections.
- Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Performing engineering calculations that increase in complexity as you advance through studies.
- Collaborating with internal disciplines and external stakeholders, clients and contractors.
- Participating in office‑based work and site duties.
Qualifications you need:
- A minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points including grade B in A‑level Mathematics or equivalent.
- A keen interest in bridge engineering.
- Strong communication and teamworking skills.
- A flexible and proactive self‑starter who is passionate about developing new skills.
- The ability to adapt and prioritise while juggling work and study priorities.
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply skills to solve real‑world problems.
- Empathy and listening skills to understand clients’ requirements.
- A well‑rounded person with diverse experiences (e.g., bar work, sports captaincy, volunteering).
