Overview
In this role you will lead and shape Jacobs' coastal modelling capability, guiding complex coastal, environmental and infrastructure projects. You will be a key technical voice within the coastal and maritime business, driving new approaches and emerging technologies to meet client needs. You’ll tackle challenges such as coastal change, flooding, water quality, and infrastructure investment, delivering high-impact outcomes for people and environments. You will also mentor the next generation of modellers and help grow the capability through innovation and collaboration. This is a chance to influence technical direction and help define what’s next in coastal modelling at scale.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction across a wide range of coastal/ environmental projects
- Review and guide complex modelling studies for excellence in delivery
- Mentor and develop technical team members
- Shape tools, standards, and approaches for future capability
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts in coastal engineering, hydroinformatics and digital delivery
- Contribute to capability building, recruitment, and thought leadership initiatives
- Influence future direction of the coastal modelling capability
- Develop innovative digital, automated, and data-driven modelling solutions
- Engage with clients and project stakeholders to communicate technical concepts
Key requirements
- Significant experience in coastal, maritime or environmental modelling
- Strong technical expertise in hydrodynamics, coastal processes, sediment transport, morphology or water quality modelling
- Experience providing technical leadership and guidance on complex modelling projects
- Ability to mentor and develop technical teams
- Strong communication skills and client/stakeholder engagement
- A degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
