The role is a Development Management‑focused position within Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions, acting on behalf of local and national highway authorities and providing transport advice to public sector clients within the planning system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide transport advice and review planning applications, ensuring developments are safe, policy‑compliant and deliverable.
- Work independently, apply sound judgement and communicate technical advice clearly in a busy team environment.
- Support development of junior team members and build capability within the specialist area.
- Maintain strong relationships with local authority clients and support continued team growth.
- Engage with planners, developers and stakeholders, challenge proposals where needed and integrate transport considerations into development decisions.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Transport Planning or a related discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning).
- Proven Highways Development Management experience within transport planning, including acting on behalf of Highway Authorities, reviewing planning applications and applying policy with sound, balanced judgement.
- Strong technical capability: reviewing transport assessments, analysing data and providing clear, practical recommendations.
