Your impact: With a background in hydrology coupled with enthusiasm for flood forecasting, you will have the opportunity to shape the delivery of our Flood Forecasting portfolio. You will collaborate with professionals across our water and environment business, working on a diverse portfolio of projects for clients such as water companies, infrastructure providers and government bodies including the Environment Agency, SEPA and DfI.

Your remit will include:

  • Deliver a range of hydrology and/or modelling projects with a focus on flood forecasting.
  • Review, develop and test flood forecasting models using PDM, Flood Modeller and similar software.
  • Support innovative development in flood forecasting solutions through Machine Learning and AI.
  • Act as a technical lead able to drive delivery of hydrology elements of projects.
  • Foster a culture of growth and support, mentoring colleagues and peers through both their professional and personal development.
  • Provide subject matter expertise support for bids.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Experience of applying Flood Forecasting objectives and UK guidance/standards.
  • Sound knowledge of PDM modelling including calibration and performance analysis.
  • Enthusiasm for Machine Learning and AI.
  • Routing and hydrodynamic modelling for flood forecasting.
  • Experience in other areas of hydrology including flood modelling and mapping, low flows or water resources.
  • Having chartered status held with an appropriate professional body, or approaching chartership.
  • Enthusiasm to join and shape a growing team, supporting growth and development of junior team members.
