We are currently seeking an experienced technical specialist to expand our team to help deliver continued growth in our services and greater value to our client's requirements. The role will provide leadership of project teams delivering our services and provide wider support enabling the growth and development of our team, at the forefront of dynamic change in energy generation, management and distribution.
The successful candidate will focus on energy management, efficiency and net‑zero delivery, with experience of modern/future energy systems in terms of their technical properties, economic and environmental impacts, and existing technologies including renewable and low‑carbon generation and storage. We seek strong experience in public, industrial and commercial energy usage, energy savings, utility plant development and emission reductions to support clients in developing decarbonisation strategies and business‑case assessments. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with our operations and sales teams, providing client focus and support, innovative solutions to challenges, and nurturing our technical resources.
Key Responsibilities- Programme/Project Management – accountable for key tasks and quality data outputs in a project reviewer role.
- Engage with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Maintain knowledge of energy/carbon policy developments, energy markets and wider sustainability issues.
- Appraise energy generation technology options and conduct life‑cycle cost analysis.
- Perform energy management, asset reviews and audit surveys; model energy demand and prepare low‑carbon energy solutions, either by reconfiguring existing operations or developing new strategies.
- Lead bid preparation, deliver to tight timescales, be technically accurate and manage multiple schemes simultaneously.
- Provide strong verbal and written communication, quantitative and problem‑solving skills.
- Engineering degree – preferably with a focus on energy (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent process‑related degree).
- Previous experience in the energy field, including design and operation of process equipment.
- Strong project‑management skills, ability to develop clear work programmes and communicate requirements.
- Knowledge of current and anticipated environmental, carbon and energy policy and legislation and how these apply to organisations and projects.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage with colleagues and clients and provide evidence‑based advice in verbal and written reports.
- Capable of developing standard engineering deliverables such as heat and mass balances.
