Your impact As a recognised Dams and Reservoir water management industry expert, you will play a critical leadership role in our Water Catchment Management team, helping drive our extensive programme of high profile projects across multiple sectors. Our UK Centre of Excellence is an integral part of a global team of 400 specialist reservoir engineers. Working alongside most of the major UK reservoir owners, in this newly created role, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of Reservoir engineering solutions covering the full life cycle of Dams, from feasibility through to detailed design, inspections, studies, reengineering and discontinuance.
Working in partnership with major UK reservoir owners including EA, UU, Northumbrian, Thames and Welsh Water our team collaborate with disciplines such as hydrology, geotechnics, hydraulics, structural analysis and environment, delivering projects and engineering services ranging from statutory inspections and remedial works to the design and construction of major new dams.
Our continued success and growth alongside the upcoming renaissance in UK dam building including major new strategic resource option (SRO) reservoirs and pumped storage hydro projects has resulted in a number of new opportunities being created, as a specialist advisor, your remit and responsibilities will include:
- Technical leadership and governance on our projects.
- Support staff at a project level to deliver high quality, technically robust deliverables in dam engineering.
- Oversee and deliver technical reviews.
- Collaborate with the wider Jacobs business and Clients technical, legal and commercial matters associated with reservoirs.
- Develop and mentor colleagues and peers, providing technical guidance and support to reservoir engineers working towards appointment to the SE or ARPE panels.
- Provide subject matter expertise and input to sales and operational teams, to support business development opportunities (including supporting bids).

- Appointed to the All Reservoirs Panel of Engineers, or have the experience and qualifications to apply for the All Reservoirs Panel in the future.
- Experience of inspecting embankment dams.
- Knowledge of embankment dam behaviour, monitoring and surveillance.
- A well respected industry profile with links to industry and academia.
- Chartered with Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Ability to foster and grow a culture of professional and personal development across all levels of the business.
- A record of publications (journal articles, book chapters, conference papers).
