Seasonal Ecologist – Summer Season
Jacobs invites motivated individuals to join our Ecology team for a zero‑hour summer placement. Work alongside experienced survey leads, bat specialists, ornithologists, botanists and protected species experts on infrastructure and environmental projects across Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Support ecological teams on a variety of projects
- Assist with field surveys, data collection and monitoring activities
- Contribute to survey planning and logistics
- Produce high‑quality ecological data and deliverables
- Assist with technical reporting
Qualifications
- A degree in ecology or a related discipline
- Motivated, proactive and enthusiastic about a career in ecology
- Eligible or working towards CIEEM membership
- Organised, dependable and strong time‑management skills
- Comfortable working as part of a team and in the field
- Willing to travel and stay away from home (up to 4 nights per week during peak survey periods)
- Previous experience in ecological surveys or fieldwork
- Experience or interest in bat or ornithology surveys (highly valued)
- A full driving licence
