We're looking for Assistant Project Managers to join our growing team in Manchester. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the early stages of their project management career who is looking for genuine development, exposure to a variety of projects and a clear pathway towards becoming a Project Manager and beyond.
Jacobs will look to get you working alongside experienced Project Managers, architects, engineers and technical specialists who will help you build your knowledge, confidence and responsibilities over time. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to real project delivery, gain exposure to clients and stakeholders, and develop the commercial and technical understanding needed to progress your career.
As part of the team, you'll help coordinate project activities, support programme and budget tracking, assist with reporting and forecasting, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects continue moving forward successfully. You'll learn how projects are managed from concept and design through to delivery, gaining valuable experience across every stage of the project lifecycle.
At Jacobs we work across a diverse portfolio of sectors and clients delivering projects across healthcare, defence, education, science and technology, and commercial developments. Our clients span Central and Local Governments as well as more widely across a variety of Transportation and Buildings sectors. You'll gain exposure to interesting and complex projects that help shape communities across the UK.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is naturally organised and wants to build a long-term career in project management. You may already have some experience within consultancy, engineering, construction, design management or the wider built environment, but equally important is your willingness to learn, take ownership and develop new skills.
At Jacobs, career development isn't an afterthought. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues, encouraged to take on increasing responsibility and given opportunities to grow your technical, commercial and leadership skills. Whether your ambition is to become a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or eventually lead major programmes, we'll help you build the experience and confidence to get there.
If you're looking for a role where you'll learn from industry experts, work on projects that shape communities and develop a rewarding long-term career in project management, we'd love to hear from you.
Here's what you'll need:
- Degree in engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline.
- Or an Apprenticeship qualification combined with relevant experience in engineering, construction, design, infrastructure or project delivery environments.
- Student or Associate membership of the Association for Project Management (APM) or similar recognised body.
- Exposure to NEC3 or NEC4 contracts is a strong advantage.
- Early-career project management experience within a consultancy or professional services environment, supporting the delivery of building, construction, design or design-and-build projects.
Alongside meaningful and varied work, we offer:
- Up to 10% pension contribution
- 24 days annual leave plus the option to buy up to 10 additional days
- Private medical insurance
