Our Energy & Power team is expanding, and we’re looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major projects across the UK and Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced commercial leaders, develop your capability, and play a key role in delivering complex, high‑profile programmes that support the transition to a more sustainable and resilient energy system.
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you’ll provide commercial and contract support across a diverse portfolio of Energy & Power projects. Your work will help ensure risks are managed, contractual entitlement is protected, and projects are delivered in line with Jacobs’ commercial strategy.
Main responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Support commercial and contract management across live projects
- Help identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with contract requirements
- Review contract programmes and support the team in managing delays and change
- Build strong working relationships with client commercial teams
- Support commercial and financial reporting, ensuring clear and accurate information
- Work closely with Senior Commercial Managers, Project Managers and Project Controls
- Support bids, contract reviews and implementation throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with internal teams including Legal, Supply Chain and wider E&P colleagues
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation and efficiency across the team
- Contribute to cost management, forecasting, estimating and change control
- Lead or support the production of CE’s, variations, risk registers and risk reduction meetings
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience in a similar commercial or contract support role
- Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and contract administration
- Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills
- Experience in cost forecasting, reporting, risk management and contract documentation
- Pre‑ and post‑contract experience
- Confidence working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset and alignment with Jacobs’ values
Experience in feasibility studies, procurement strategies, tender evaluation, contract formation, cost estimating, and time/cost/risk management will be highly beneficial.
