Your impact

Our Bioresources capability at Jacobs provides consulting, innovation, design, operating and asset management expertise to resolve significant technical and commercial challenges to the ever‑developing global Bioresources industry, positioning Jacobs as market and technology leaders in this space. In this newly created role you will gain the opportunity to join a growing team responsible for the design, development and delivery of sludge treatment processes including our own Jacobs bioresources process technologies, throughout their lifecycle from strategic concept stage through feasibility, engineering, installation, acceptance testing, reliability, performance trials and asset management.

Scope and remit of this new role will include:

  • Strategy and consulting.
  • Environmental and economic regulation.
  • FEED – Front‑end engineering design of solids handling, municipal sewage sludge treatment digesters, pre‑treatment processes along with associated mechanical systems, plant and equipment.
  • Engineering analysis and modelling including CFD, thermals and heat transfer.
  • Detail design and systems integration of mechanical process equipment, storage tanks, mixing systems, heat exchangers and boilers.
  • Asset management and planning.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Biomass processing experience.
  • Design of digesters, pre‑treatment, or associated equipment.
  • Design of solids handling processes, odour control, composting, drying, biosolids and aerobic processes, anaerobic digestion.
  • Design of municipal sewage sludge treatment facilities.
  • Emissions to air mitigation.
  • Design of odour control and abatement systems.
  • Odour/methane emissions modelling and sampling.
  • Relevant academic qualifications, such as a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
