Our client is a leading global audio-visual integrator, delivering world-class AV and event services across a diverse portfolio of international client partnerships. They are now seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. This key role will represent our client across a range of high-profile projects, taking full responsibility for technical estimating, pre-sales support, and project delivery guidance for both domestic and global initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Technical Manager to join an established and respected operation, with genuine scope to influence, innovate, and enhance service delivery at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- RFP Phase
- Read and understand new consultant/contract RFP documents.
- Support the client’s internal teams as required for the development of technical tender documents.
- Attend internal/external meetings and interviews if required.
- Attend all pre-construction workshops.
- Develop and deliver the workshop output back into the client’s teams.
- Develop and submit technical submittals, managed through to conclusion.
- Conduct internal meetings as required, to deliver the design requirements to colleagues/departments.
- Manage design queries from the client’s design department and coordinate the external Q&A process as required.
- Review all client drawings upon completion, manage changes as required, and ensure full accuracy of the drawing pack prior to external submission.
- Manage design changes throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Work closely with the consultant on their change requirements.
- Run the RFI/query process.
- Deliver changes internally to the design department.
- Manage and check drawing updates in line with changes prior to issue.
- Ensure approved changes are delivered, known, and understood across all relevant client departments and individuals:
- Design (drawings)
- Procurement (working copy)
- Production (design)
- Programmer (code and GUI)
- AV/UC engineer (technical documentation)
- Work with Production to ensure rack build and test processes are completed in line with the project programme.
- Check that the Programmer is developing the code in accordance with the latest design and project timeline.
- Ensure all changes have been captured and incorporated into the build.
- Oversee all pre-staging tests to ensure racks are complete and ready for consultant witness testing.
- Attend witness testing.
- Work with the appointed AV/UC Engineer to progress all requirements.
- Track document production (HLDs and IT interface schedules).
- Oversee associated internal and client-side activities to help ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
- Attend site for testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Work with the Design department on O&M documentation development.
- Ensure all changes have been incorporated.
- Check accuracy of all information.
Desirable Skills
- Working knowledge of current AV systems, associated IT elements and installation (including AMX, Crestron, Extron, audio DSP, video conferencing, etc.).
- Technical knowledge of AV equipment, design concepts, and solutions including IT and networks.
- Understanding of client needs, room environments and system use.
