Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) and related regulations.
- Conducting inspections of street works and highway activity, capturing real‑time data and issuing defect notices.
- Collaborating with stakeholders such as police, client teams and statutory undertakers to resolve traffic‑management issues.
- Supporting the development of procedures and policies, resolving third‑party complaints, and contributing to best‑practice network management.
- Representing Jacobs and Hertfordshire County Council as a professional and accountable inspector.
Qualifications:
- Valid NRSWA Supervisors accreditation with experience in a street works environment from a Highways Authority and/or Utility Company.
- Experience with the DFT Street Manager street works system, including noticing / permitting types and protocols.
- Experience working within a street works permitting environment such as the East of England Permit Scheme.
- Full, clean driving licence; ability to travel by Jacobs vehicle (van) and use mobile phone.
