Responsibilities
- Undertake tree surveys related to planning and development and provide technical arboricultural solutions.
- Conduct veteran tree surveys and give advice.
- Support the wider arboricultural team on a national scale.
- Ensure the delivery of comprehensive arboricultural reports, including Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements within tight time‑frames to meet client requirements.
- Work with a range of disciplines within Jacobs and with outside consultants.
- Contribute new innovative ideas, materials, research and learnings to the team as part of your management and project work.
- Work with arboricultural sub‑contractors as part of the arboricultural offering.
Qualifications
- Level 4–6 QCF or equivalent arboriculturist qualification, with previous practical experience as an arboricultural consultant.
- In‑depth understanding of BS 5837:2012 and BS 3998:2010, and knowledge of Streetworks UK: National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG) Volume 4.
- Understanding of National Planning Policy Framework (Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, 2014) in relation to trees.
- Experience of working on large‑scale infrastructure projects and within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with CAD and digital survey hardware and software, including GIS, and experience of MS Word and Excel.
- High standard of report‑writing skills.
- Site visits and survey work are part of the role; a driving licence is essential.
