Within our Energy Advisory capability, we solve complex energy challenges with a strong focus on low‑carbon and net‑zero initiatives. We support clients in transitioning to low‑carbon solutions, combining strategic advisory with innovative engineering, and providing guidance on policy and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams delivering services and support wider team growth.
  • Lead and manage ESOS compliance programmes as Lead ESOS Assessor and technical authority.
  • Lead projects/programmes, accountable for key tasks, quality data outputs through project reviewer role.
  • Conduct energy management, asset reviews, audit surveys, energy demand modelling, and prepare low‑carbon energy solutions.
  • Guide clients and internal teams through every stage of compliance, ensuring audits meet ESOS standards.
  • Deliver to tight timescales, manage several schemes simultaneously, and provide innovative solutions to clients’ most challenging problems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering degree focused on energy (Chemical, Mechanical, or equivalent process related degree).
  • Proven experience in industrial, commercial and public sector energy management and efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to engage with colleagues and clients and provide clear, evidence‑based advice verbally and in written reports and presentations.
  • Capable of developing standard engineering deliverables such as technical calculations and reporting.
  • Aware of health and safety issues and safe working methods.
  • ESOS Lead Assessor certification.
  • Membership or demonstration of working toward chartered status of an Engineering Institution (preferred).
  • Ability to be based in, or regularly work from, the Manchester office, with flexibility to attend client sites and Jacobs offices as required.
