Responsibilities

  • Preparation of geotechnical desk studies.
  • Design and supervision of ground investigations.
  • Interpretation of ground investigation data to prepare ground models and prepare factual and interpretative reports.
  • Carry out geological/geomorphological mapping for the assessment of rock slope hazards and natural terrain hazards.
  • Assess geological/geotechnical information and assist with developing detailed design recommendations for our clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and assist with the management of geotechnical risk on projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Geoscience, and ideally, an MSc in Engineering Geology, Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  • A sound understanding of geotechnical risk, and how this can be managed on projects.
  • 2-4 years experience in a consulting, GI Contractor, or construction environment.
  • Confident in the use of GIS software.
  • Ground modelling expertise including the use of software e.g. OpenGround, Leapfrog.
  • Level 1 IRATA rope access qualification or willingness to obtain this (full training will be provided by Jacobs).
