Your impact:

At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Jacobs is currently delivering and preparing a wide range of major programmes—both at procurement and construction stages—under the NEC suite of contracts. As part of this growth, we’re offering talented NEC Project Managers the chance to step into roles where their expertise genuinely shapes outcomes.

Joining our Transportation Project Delivery team means being at the heart of some of the UK and Ireland’s most high‑profile highways and rail projects, with opportunities to influence wider disciplines through our NEC Professional Services Contracts; as well as supporting clients with a wide variety of NEC contracts such as Engineering and Construction through management of ECC and ESC types on their behalf.

In this role, the impact you create will be felt from day one. As the client’s key representative, you’ll be the person who ensures our projects run with clarity, collaboration and momentum. You’ll guide communication between all parties, keep decision making proactive, and make sure that every stage—from early scope development to construction delivery and final closeout—follows the principles that make NEC projects successful. You won’t just administer the contract; you’ll be the driving force that keeps progress on track and helps prevent issues before they arise.

Your leadership will play a vital role in how these projects land. You’ll bring together multidisciplinary teams—Supervisors, planners, cost controllers and others—helping them interpret contractual requirements and stay aligned on programme, scope and budget.

By shaping Scope and Contract documentation with design teams, you’ll be setting the foundations that allow projects to succeed long before construction begins. Your insight into NEC3 Works Information or NEC4 Scope will give clients the confidence that their projects are in good hands.

Once construction is underway, your decisions and judgement will directly influence project outcomes. Whether it’s issuing key instructions, managing early warnings, implementing compensation events or responding to deadlines, you’ll be the person ensuring the contract works exactly as it should.

Your understanding of programming—float, logic links, concurrency, Key Dates—will help you make well‑reasoned, timely decisions that keep delivery efficient and transparent.

Beyond the day to day, you’ll also have the chance to shape how NEC is applied across Jacobs. By supporting colleagues and advising other teams, you’ll help strengthen our internal capability, build consistency and confidence, and contribute to raising NEC best practice across the wider business.

These opportunities span the UK and Ireland, primarily across major highways and rail projects. As Jacobs continues to expand its NEC capability, your role will have a real influence—not only on the success of individual projects, but on how we deliver NEC contracts across the organisation. You’ll be helping us evolve our approaches, mentor others, and contribute to a growing centre of excellence in NEC project management.

We are currently recruiting for our Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Exeter and Bristol offices.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Degree in engineering, construction or another built environment subject
  • Proven, hands‑on project management experience on live construction sites.
  • Ability to manage change and uncertainty while maintaining positive relationships with Clients, Contractors and internal teams.
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large (at least £20 million construction value or equivalent) and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.

Benefits & Culture:
