Job Description

As the Category & Shopper Marketing Executive, you will be part of the Category Development and Shopper Marketing team within the wider Sales function. Reporting to the Shopper Marketing Lead, you will work cross-functionally to deliver excellent Shopper Marketing executions and Category analysis.

This role involves working with various data sources to analyze category data, generate reports, and support the Category Team in executing core range and distribution plans.

You will execute shopper activity plans across smaller customers, bringing brands and events to life for shoppers, focusing on performance evaluation and cross-functional communication. Additionally, you will coordinate cardboard display solutions with third-party teams.

The role requires collaboration with demand functions to align internal ambitions with customer requirements in activation and distribution planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execution of activation plans
  • Represent customer needs internally and incorporate them into proposals
  • Manage activation budgets for assigned accounts
  • Support internal deployment meetings and develop sales materials
  • Collaborate with agencies for bespoke customer solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, Corporate Affairs, and Supply Chain
  • Implement activity plans to engage shoppers both in-store and online
  • Evaluate executions and provide learnings
  • Manage third-party cardboard delivery for channels

Data & Reporting:

  • Deliver regular reports and update scorecards
  • Manage Perfect Store reporting and scorecard updates
  • Harmonize data and reporting processes
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and store planogram development

Strategy & Planning Support:

  • Assist in developing category fundamentals like Category Vision and Perfect Store
  • Create templates for internal planning processes

Online Execution:

  • Manage online content for NPD launches and campaigns
  • Coordinate with marketing and agencies for Amazon and other e-commerce platforms

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in FMCG marketing, shopper marketing, or customer activation roles
  • Knowledge of FMCG, UK market, and omni-channel retailing
  • Experience working with top UK grocery retailers
  • Ability to analyze data and drive actions
  • Financial skills including P&L management and budgeting
  • Strong networking and influencing skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel across the UK for customer meetings
  • Experience in retail, out-of-home, and e-commerce is preferred
