Jacob Thomas Associates is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a fantastic manufacturing facility, overseeing different sites. The successful HSE Manager will play an instrumental role in ensuring the company complies with all HSE legislation, to ensure a safe working environment and best practice.

The Role:
- Pro-active day-to-day coordination of Health, Safety and Environmental matters throughout the Business Group
- Ensuring all aspects of legislation and compliance are documented, maintained and implemented where needed. This includes: Risk Assessments, Audits, and Inspections. Investigations & Training
- Responsible for all employees’ safety and environmental training and ensuring recorded accurately onto the internal system(s)
- Assist with maintaining the company’s ISO 45001/ISO 14001 systems and accreditations
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement and best practice in H&S & Environmental matters
- Identifying hazards, near misses or areas of concern and addressing and implementing a solution
- Report writing, ensuring accuracy and recording documentation onto the internal system(s)
- Attend regular management meetings, liaising with various Stakeholders and at times presenting
- Attend and assist the Works Committee meetings, ensuring an open forum for matters concerning the factory, Plant, business and employees
- Mentoring Health & Safety Reps onsite and the Committee
- Regular travel will be required as part of this role as the HSE Manager needs to be accessible to multiple sites and their employees
- Support with achieving the business objectives to drive the business forward and continue their continuous improvement ethos
Our Ideal Candidate:
- NEBOSH qualified with a proven record of EHS Management
- IOSH qualified is desirable, however, not essential
- Proven internal audit experience of adherence to Health & Safety regulations
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, guide and influence a team
- Adopts a practical approach and is visible on the shop-floor and throughout the business
- A self-starter with a proactive “Can Do” approach
- A solution provider who can use their own initiative and ability to make decisions when needed
- Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Previous experience of operating within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous
- A full UK Driving Licence will be required due to the nature of the role, as will be travelling across both sites in Rutland, Northamptonshire and Staffordshire
