Financial Controller

Jacob Grey have just partnered with an established, highly reputable SME in Welwyn Garden City to identify a new Financial Controller.

Reporting to the MD of this dynamic and evolving manufacturing business, this is an exciting opportunity to truly put your own stamp on the finance department as well as contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a small team within the finance department
• Preparation of Statutory Accounts including liaising with the auditors at year end
• Full preparation of the monthly management account packs including variance analysis, commentary and recommendations
• Hands on balancesheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal adjustments
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cashflow forecasting
• Maintaining the fixed asset register
• VAT returns
• WIP and inventory accounting
• Overseeing the payroll function
• Management of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Liaising with the banks when/where applicable
• Ad hoc analysis and project work where applicable
• Streamlining and automating of existing processes where applicable

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant and will ideally possess Manufacturing experience. You will also have a demonstrative track record in similar roles, having streamlined and automated processes previously as well as favouring a hands on approach to technical accounting.

You will be full of initiative, highly analytical, IT literate, and passionate about implementing new procedures and improving existing processes.
