Join us and build what matters for BC. Jacob Bros Construction is immediately hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our shop and maintenance facility in South Surrey, BC.

Your Rewards:

  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Work 10-12/h days, 5-6 days per week
  • Earn overtime after 8 hours per day, and double time after 12 hours per day

Requirements:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certification
  • Valid Class 5 license with air brake endorsement required
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ Red Seal certified experience
  • Minimum ten years experience
  • Welding experience an asset
  • Prior experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi, Deere, Komatsu equipment
  • CSTS certificate, First Aid and WHMIS certificate(s) are an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and service Caterpillar, Hitachi, Deere, Komatsu equipment both in the shop and in the field
  • Diagnose, identify and repair problems, faults and malfunctions in structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
  • Maintain and repair vehicles including but not limited to: earth moving equipment, trucks, trailers and tracked equipment
  • Use hand and power tools to repair and perform maintenance on equipment
  • Take direction from shop Foreman and work harmoniously with co-workers to ensure all repairs and tests are performed satisfactorily
  • Other duties as assigned
