We have a new and exciting opportunity for a full time Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our Legal Aid Team in our Rugby Office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Private Law Children/Matrimonial and Domestic Abuse Cases.

About Us: Jackson West is a leading Midlands Law Firm with Offices in Banbury, Rugby & Stratford upon Avon.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseload of primarily legal aid cases including private law children matters, matrimonial finances and domestic abuse applications.
  • Attendance on clients to take instructions.
  • Drafting statements of evidence, Court applications, letters, preparation of file notes, telephone notes and other correspondence.
  • Undertaking legal research.
  • Preparing cases for Court.
  • Undertaking advocacy at various hearings throughout the case.
  • Liaising and working collaboratively with other professionals and experts.
  • Ensuring compliance.
  • Other office duties as required.

Key experience:

  • Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • CILEX or Solicitor with 1-year+ PQE and experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
