We have a new and exciting opportunity for a full time Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our Legal Aid Team in our Rugby Office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Private Law Children/Matrimonial and Domestic Abuse Cases.
About Us
Jackson West is a leading Midlands Law Firm with Offices in Banbury, Rugby & Stratford upon Avon. In addition, we deal with commercial and residential conveyancing, wills, trusts and probate and private family law work including divorce, pre and post nuptial agreements, financial disputes upon separation and divorce and disputes regarding children.
Key responsibilities
- Manage caseload of primarily legal aid cases including private law children matters, matrimonial finances and domestic abuse applications
- Attendance on clients to take instructions
- Drafting statements of evidence, Court applications, letters, preparation of file notes, telephone notes and other correspondence
- Undertaking legal research
- Preparing cases for Court
- Undertaking advocacy at various hearings throughout the case
- Liaising and working collaboratively with other professionals and experts
- Ensuring compliance
- Other office duties as required
Key experience
- Strong Excel, Work and Outlook skills
- CILEX or Solicitor with 1-year+ PQE and experience
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Full driving licence
