Jackson Swiss Partners is a boutique treasury and commercial finance consultancy serving large privately owned SMEs globally. We specialise in FX risk management, international payments, and commercial finance — operating as a truly independent advisor, remunerated by our broker and lender partners rather than clients. Our proprietary treasury technology platform covers FX forecasting, stress-testing, broker benchmarking, mark-to-market tracking, and multi-currency payments. We are a people-first business built on long-term client relationships and deep market expertise.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Desk — FX Hedging is one of the most senior and consequential roles at Jackson Swiss Partners. You will build and lead a high-performing team of FX portfolio managers, own the firm’s most significant client relationships, and sit at the table as we continue to develop our proprietary treasury technology platform. This is not a conventional desk head role. Our clients are some of the UK's largest privately owned companies — businesses with real complexity, material FX exposure, and boards that expect strategic counsel, not transactional execution. You will be the person they call. You will also be an architect of how we scale: shaping the team, the methodology, and the technology that underpins everything we do. If you are a senior FX professional who wants genuine ownership, direct access to leadership, and the opportunity to build something lasting — this is that role.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, build, and lead a team of FX portfolio managers, establishing the standards, culture, and processes that define the desk.
- Act as a mentor and technical authority — developing your team’s capability in hedging strategy, client management, and commercial judgement.
- Set and own desk performance objectives, managing to both qualitative and quantitative outcomes.
Client Relationships
- Serve as lead advisor to a portfolio of the UK's largest privately owned companies, building deep, multi-year relationships at CFO and board level.
- Design and manage bespoke hedging programmes — covering strategic policy, instrument selection, execution, and ongoing review — tailored to each client’s risk appetite, cashflow profile, and commercial objectives.
- Deliver regular hedge reviews, mark-to-market reporting, and board-level presentations, leveraging our proprietary platform throughout.
- Translate complex market dynamics into clear, actionable guidance that drives confident decision-making at the highest level.
- Contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of our proprietary treasury technology platform — bringing the perspective of a practitioner who understands what tools genuinely serve clients.
- Work closely with our technology team to enhance capabilities across FX forecasting, stress-testing, broker benchmarking, and multi-currency payments.
- Help define how technology differentiates Jackson Swiss Partners in the market and raises the standard of advice we can deliver at scale.
Business Development
- Play an active role in originating and converting new client mandates at the large corporate end of the market, working alongside the CEO and wider team.
- Represent Jackson Swiss Partners externally — at industry events, in the press, and across the mid-market and corporate treasury community.
- Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships across our broader commercial finance offering.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in corporate FX advisory, structuring, or portfolio management — from a bank, specialist broker, or treasury consultancy.
- Proven experience managing or advising large, complex corporate clients with significant multi-currency exposure, ideally at CFO or treasury director level.
- Deep technical knowledge of FX hedging instruments and strategies — forwards, vanilla and exotic options, structured solutions — and the judgement to apply them appropriately.
- Demonstrated leadership experience: you have built, managed, or materially shaped a team, and you take that responsibility seriously.
- The commercial credibility and executive presence to operate at board level with some of the UK's largest businesses.
- An interest in — and ideally experience with — treasury technology, financial tools, or platform development.
- A genuine affinity for the independent, long-term advisory model: you care about client outcomes above all else.
- Familiarity with multi-currency payments and broader treasury management.
- ACI Dealing Certificate, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Network within the UK large corporate or privately owned business community.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary + performance‑related bonus tied to desk and firm outcomes.
- Direct line to the CEO and meaningful influence over the firm’s strategic direction.
- The opportunity to build a desk from the ground up — your team, your culture, your standards.
- Genuine independence: no conflicts of interest, no house view to sell, no pressure to push product.
- Access to a wide panel of FX broker partners and 300+ lenders.
- Active involvement in shaping proprietary technology used by some of the UK's most sophisticated treasury teams.
- A people‑first culture that invests in long‑term relationships — with clients and colleagues alike.
