Introduction
As an apprentice at Jackson Stapleton Accountants, you will receive mentoring and will learn from our highly trained team. You will complete accredited learning, including an AAT accounts qualification and will gain experience from a broad range of jobs within our company, including accounting, VAT and tax.

Responsibilities
As an apprentice you’ll complete a structured programme of learning, starting with a Level2 Apprenticeship and Level2 AAT Certificate in Accounting, with opportunities to progress through Level3, Level4, and eventually gain an ACCA qualification after gaining 3years of work experience. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to help you achieve the apprenticeship standard while building your confidence and helping you develop your career within a well‑established and supportive company. Duties include:
- Assisting with all aspects of accounts preparation.
- Bookkeeping transactions using different software platforms.
- Produce, run and submit VAT returns.
- Processing payroll.
- Accurately entering accounting data and collecting and storing client records effectively.
- Reconciliation of client bank accounts, credit card accounts, sales and purchase ledgers.
- Dealing with HMRC queries and authorisations.
- General office administration, including filing and scanning.
- Assisting clients with queries over the telephone and via email.
- Learning from colleagues and attending college training sessions to complete AAT qualifications.
- Performing other associated duties as required.
Training Outcome
This apprenticeship programme provides a fantastic opportunity for apprentices to build a strong foundation of on‑ and off‑the‑job learning.
