We are looking for a motivated and aspiring Immigration Caseworker to join our Liverpool office. Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you'll gain valuable exposure to asylum and immigration matters, develop your legal knowledge and skills, and work towards achieving Law Society Senior Immigration Caseworker accreditation.

Overall purpose of the role: To support the Immigration team in delivering high-quality advice and representation to clients in asylum and immigration matters. You will develop your technical knowledge, case management skills and professional competence while working towards Senior Immigration Caseworker accreditation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of senior members of the Immigration team.
  • Meet with clients and assist with asylum and immigration cases funded under legal aid.
  • Comply with client care standards, professional requirements and legal aid rules.
  • Continue to train, develop and enhance your knowledge of immigration and asylum law.
  • Manage work carefully, maintaining accurate files and meeting all deadlines.
  • Support the prompt and accurate billing of files.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, peers and clients.

What we’re looking for:

  • A legal degree or equivalent legal experience gained within a legal practice.
  • A demonstrable commitment to and passion for a career in immigration law.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and case management skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work within strict deadlines.
  • A professional, collaborative and client-focused approach.
  • A commitment to achieving Law Society Senior Immigration Caseworker accreditation within six months.
