Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading engineering consultancy to bring a Lead E&I Engineer to take ownership of Electrical & Instrumentation delivery across complex engineering projects. This is a permanent, full time on site role based in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the E&I scope to agreed time, cost, and quality targets
  • Provide technical and people leadership to E&I engineers and designers
  • Own E&I engineering schedules, deliverables, and progress reporting
  • Manage E&I manhour budgets, resourcing levels, and workload planning
  • Ensure all E&I designs comply with legislation, industry standards, and client specifications
  • Control and manage scope change in line with formal change management procedures
  • Maintain technical integrity and accuracy across all E&I deliverables
  • Participate in and contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, safety, and design reviews
  • Provide guidance on hazardous area installations, including ATEX compliance
  • Ensure all documentation is checked and approved in line with company procedures
  • Support tendering activities, including scope definition and CTR generation
  • Coach and develop Engineers, Graduates, and Trainees within the discipline

Key Requirements:

  • HNC or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Significant experience delivering E&I engineering on Oil & Gas brownfield projects (Feasibility, Concept, FEED, EPC)
  • Proven experience leading E&I engineering teams on projects
  • Strong working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and legislation
  • Experience with manhour control, cost awareness, and change management
  • Solid understanding of hazardous area design and ATEX directives
  • Experience contributing to HAZOP, HAZID, and constructability reviews
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate at project leadership level

Desirable:

  • Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Chartered status (CEng / MIET)
  • SIL experience
  • Offshore experience and/or offshore survey exposure
  • BOSIET certification
