Jackson Hogg is delighted to be exclusively recruiting for an experienced Lead Engineer to join an innovative engineering company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, to take ownership of the design and delivery of cutting-edge projects across the renewables, marine, and port sectors. This is a unique opportunity for a Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineer looking to step up into a Lead role, who thrives on designing bespoke, high-value equipment and driving projects from concept through to delivery. The Lead Engineer will have autonomy to take lead on projects, work closely with clients and solve unique engineering problems.
As a Lead Engineer, you will:
- Lead design projects, check and approve calculations, and make key engineering decisions.
- Mentor and inspire other engineers while advancing engineering standards.
- Be the client’s go-to engineer, managing design reviews, risk, and evolving requirements.
- Champion new technology, automation, and innovative workflows to improve efficiency, quality and speed.
Requirements of the Lead Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Extensive design and project-lead experience in mechanical, structural, or related engineering.
- Degree qualified in mechanical, structural or related engineering discipline.
- Experience with 3D modelling software (Inventor preferred).
- Proven experience delivering bespoke, low-volume, high-value equipment design and engineering projects.
- Curiosity for technology, digital tools, and light coding to enhance design workflows.
