Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading engineering consultancy to bring a Lead E&I Engineer to take ownership of Electrical & Instrumentation delivery across complex engineering projects. This is a permanent, full time on site role based in Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of the E&I scope to agreed time, cost, and quality targets
- Provide technical and people leadership to E&I engineers and designers
- Own E&I engineering schedules, deliverables, and progress reporting
- Manage E&I manhour budgets, resourcing levels, and workload planning
- Ensure all E&I designs comply with legislation, industry standards, and client specifications
- Control and manage scope change in line with formal change management procedures
- Maintain technical integrity and accuracy across all E&I deliverables
- Participate in and contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, safety, and design reviews
- Provide guidance on hazardous area installations, including ATEX compliance
- Ensure all documentation is checked and approved in line with company procedures
- Support tendering activities, including scope definition and CTR generation
- Coach and develop Engineers, Graduates, and Trainees within the discipline
Key Requirements:
- HNC or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- Significant experience delivering E&I engineering on Oil & Gas brownfield projects (Feasibility, Concept, FEED, EPC)
- Proven experience leading E&I engineering teams on projects
- Strong working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and legislation
- Experience with manhour control, cost awareness, and change management
- Solid understanding of hazardous area design and ATEX directives
- Experience contributing to HAZOP, HAZID, and constructability reviews
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate at project leadership level
Desirable:
- Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- Chartered status (CEng / MIET)
- SIL experience
- Offshore experience and/or offshore survey exposure
- BOSIET certification
