We are excited to be partnering with our client to find a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager who is eager to make an impact.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping growth, identifying and exploring new opportunities and untapped markets, and building long term relationships with clients. You will have a hunter mindset, constantly seeking new opportunities while nurturing sustainable growth, playing a pivotal role in driving business expansion, directly supporting the company\’s long-term strategy and ambitions.

With a focus on port services growth including shipping, logistics, and Ro-Ro, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on challenge, enjoys opening new doors, and wants to contribute to meaningful, large-scale growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business leads and opportunities for the port in markets such as Logistics, Bulks, Projects and Ro-Ro.
  • Develop and manage your sales pipeline, providing regular updates to the management team.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and improve the opportunity conversion rates in the Port.
  • Update CRM tools, contracts, pricing models and contribute to the development and deployment of the Port\’s strategy.
  • Attend relevant events, visit customers and generate new contacts and leads.
  • Draft bids and proposals.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop specific strategies and targeting for growth areas.
  • Draft and review contracts in conjunction with Legal and other stakeholders, develop pricing models.

Key experience / Qualifications

  • Commercially minded \’hunter\’ with demonstrable experience developing and securing new business, preferably in a Ports or Maritime environment.
  • Able and willing to work as part of a team and in alignment with the Ports values.
  • An existing network in the ports services, shipping or logistics covering one or more of the following markets: Bulks, Ro-Ro or Project Cargo
  • Knowledge of market trends and developments in the given area.
  • Experience with drafting contracts, developing pricing models and putting together bids.
  • An ability to drive new customer generation, chase down leads and opportunities.
  • Working to KPIs and driving best practice in a sales-focused environment.
