Analytical Technologist – Chemical / Microscopy

We’re partnering with a cutting-edge science company relocating its lab to a state-of-the-art Innovation Centre in the North-East.

Specialising in material science and pigment technology, they’re looking to add two Analytical Scientists to their growing team, one with expertise in microscopy and another in chemical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Microscopy:

  • Conduct advanced electron microscopy and image analysis.
  • Support global R&D projects, focusing on coatings and materials science.
  • Prepare samples using TEM and SEM, analysing pigments and polymer coatings.

Chemical:

  • Conduct chemical and physical analyses using techniques like ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and Karl Fischer titration .
  • Maintain and optimize lab equipment to ensure accurate, high-quality results.
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods for evolving business needs.

About You:

  • HND or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science , or related field.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry investigations (industry experience preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with TEM/SEM techniques and sample preparation.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to build global partnerships.
