Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a well-established engineering organisation in Ulverston in their search for a Warehouse / Workshop Operative to join their team on a 12-month temporary contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected business with a strong reputation for quality and service. The role offers a varied mix of warehouse and light workshop duties, supporting the smooth running of daily operations. The Role As a Warehouse / Workshop Operative, you’ll play a key role in managing stock, preparing orders, and ensuring goods are shipped accurately and on time. You’ll also carry out light workshop tasks, such as cutting and preparing materials ready for dispatch to customers or engineers. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain an organised and efficient warehouse environment * Pick and pack orders to customer and engineer specifications * Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently * Support accurate stock management and assist with stock takes * Use workshop tools (e.g. chop saw, grinder) to cut and prepare materials * Ensure all lifting gear and equipment are used and maintained safely * Assist with returns and disposal of faulty stock * Record all goods in and goods out accurately using internal systems About You We’re looking for someone reliable, hands-on, and detail-oriented, who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a team. You’ll ideally have: * Previous experience in a warehouse environment * Some workshop or production experience (advantageous but not essential) * Good organisational and communication skills * Basic IT skills (experience with Sage or Salesforce beneficial but not required) * A proactive approach to safety, accuracy, and teamwork What’s on offer: * £13.00 per hour * 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) * 12-month temporary contract * Friendly and supportive working environment If you’re looking for a varied and practical role where no two days are the same, this could be a great fit for you
