Technical Marine Superintendent – Electrical Bias Location: Middlesbrough Company: PD Ports Jackson Hogg are delighted to be continuing our partnership with PD Ports, who are currently recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join their Marine Engineering team in Middlesbrough. PD Ports is the Statutory Harbour Authority for Teesport and the Port of Hartlepool, and this role presents a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation supporting a fleet of specialist vessels vital to port operations. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the maintenance, repairs, and performance of marine vessels, with a strong focus on electrical and electronic systems. * Manage dry-docking, refits, and equipment upgrades to ensure vessel reliability and efficiency. * Lead fault diagnostics and troubleshooting of all onboard electrical systems. * Ensure full compliance with maritime safety, class, and statutory regulations. * Support and improve planned maintenance systems, driving continuous technical enhancements. * Collaborate with crew, contractors, and internal departments to minimise downtime and maintain operational readiness. * Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical systems during inspections, audits, and surveys. What We’re Looking For: * Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Class 1) or equivalent marine engineering qualification. * Strong electrical background – ETO experience is highly desirable. * Significant experience in vessel maintenance and repair (experience with dredging or survey vessels would be beneficial). * Deep understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance within the marine sector.
