Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading EPC engineering business in Cramlington. The business specialises in the design, engineering, and delivery of turbine systems and associated mechanical infrastructure for onshore energy and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of turbine air intake and exhaust systems to meet industry standards, including BS EN 21789.
- Perform calculations and simulations using Mathcad for material thickness, structural integrity, and thermal performance.
- Create and review 2D/3D CAD models using Inventor and produce detailed drawings.
- Review vendor documentation, technical datasheets, and provide guidance to ensure project compliance.
- Support on-site inspections and liaise with construction teams.
- Contribute to FEED studies, design reviews, and project reporting.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) β Chartered status (IMechE) desirable.
- Experience in turbine air intake and exhaust systems, preferably in EPC/onshore energy projects.
- Proficient in Mathcad and 2D/3D CAD (Inventor).
- Practical construction/inspection experience.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
