If you’re commercially sharp, detail-driven and thrive in a fast-paced production environment, this short-term contract could be a great fit. I’m supporting a manufacturing partner who needs an experienced Production Planner to help keep things running smoothly, efficiently, and safely over a busy period.
The Role & Responsibilities
- Collating job information, updating the Production Plan and tracking progress.
- Scheduling jobs into the weekly planner, considering time, priority, resource availability and delivery targets.
- Managing production resources to maximise productivity and support on-time delivery.
- Capturing and inputting production data into SAP (Confirmations, KPIs & improvements).
- Weekly release of SAP job cards and picklists across multiple production areas.
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across the factory, attending H&S meetings and communicating updates to the team.
- Coordinating statutory inspections, equipment servicing and maintaining accurate records in line with company policy.
- Liaising weekly with Telent on 4-week production planning.
- Assembling and issuing job packs as required.
- Managing factory tool records on SharePoint to QHSSE standards.
- Ensuring staff follow new SAP processes and supporting with SAP confirmations.
- Identifying non-conformances and escalating quality issues promptly.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities across production, cost, efficiency and quality.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, paperwork and compliance at all times.
- Promoting positive customer care and representing the business professionally.
- Assessing resource requirements and negotiating priorities with project managers and operations teams.
- Providing weekly production planning outputs and efficiency metrics for management visibility.
- Overseeing waste, pollution, recycling management and emergency procedures.
- Organising equipment repairs, routine maintenance and updates to processes and systems.
- Liaising with contracts, engineering, procurement and sales teams to keep workflows aligned.
Supporting Responsibilities:
- Training backup production operatives in SAP confirmations.
- Contributing insights to product design improvements alongside engineering teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working with SAP in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling and H&S compliance.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach.
