Jackson Hogg Procurement division are partnering with a growing and successful organisation in Billingham on the appointment of a Purchasing Executive to join their Purchasing & Supply Chain team on a permanent basis. This role is based on site with flexibility to work from home on occasions when required. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 and Friday 08:00-14:30 with flexibility of a 07.30 start time if preferred. The Purchasing Executive will support the efficient operation of the supply chain function by assisting the Procurement Manager in the daily activities of the department. This includes maintaining strong supplier relationships, managing inbound shipments and containers, updating systems, and keeping other departments informed. Benefits: * CIPS funding on offer after probationary period * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Auto enroll pension after 3 months * Bonus scheme * Employee of the Month rewards * Opportunities to develop with an ambitious, growing business The Role: * Contribute to the development of the supply chain strategy as well as help to identify and remove barriers to successful achievement of strategic business goals within the department. * Assist the procurement manager to improve performance (OTIF) , reduce costs and support the achievement of business growth targets. * Chair the S&OP meeting helping to feedback to the team on Stocked out and Potential stocked out items. * Own the supply chain product and supplier fields in the ERP, own the maintenance of the supplier product and price to ensure accurate purchase orders and minimise invoice queries. * Raising of all purchase orders including outsource purchase orders ensuring that approval limits adhered to, and budget holders are correctly consulted and working capital impact is considered. * Raising of work orders for internal builds liaising with operations to ensure correct resource is allocated to ensure dates are met. * Manage the inbound shipment arrangements with freight forwarders and tracking of shipments to meet required dates. Ensuring relevant paperwork is sent to the forwarders. * Expediting of all purchase orders to ensure dates are adhered to and proactively communicate discrepancies. * Maintain strong ongoing relationships with suppliers, through clear, professional and regular communication and regular review meetings as per the supplier approval playbook. * Support the implementation of ESG initiatives in the supply chain The Person Specification: * Previous Procurement / Supply Chain experience * Excellent communication skills * Passionate for a career in Purchasing with a drive to learn * Confident speaking with suppliers on the phone For more information on this exciting new opportunity, please get in touch with Gemma Yeadon – Sector Lead | Procurement at Jackson Hogg Recruitment
