We are seeking a proactive Principal Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role involves managing a busy structural team and overseeing projects valued between £0.5m and £20m from design through to technical approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of structural projects, ensuring quality and profitability.
  • Prepare fee proposals, deliver scheme designs, and develop detailed design packages and tender documentation.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities, architects, and contractors, and attend client, design, and site meetings.
  • Manage resources including engineers and technicians, and support the Managing Director with team targets.
  • Mentor and develop team members, conduct structural surveys, and analyse structural defects.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations 2015 and contribute to business development and bid processes.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • MEng in Structural Engineering or a related discipline, or a first degree in a relevant field.
  • Chartered Membership or Associate Membership of the ICE or IStructE, or working towards it with submission within 12 months.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in structural design across Concrete, Steel, Masonry, and Timber.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with strong problem-solving and technical design abilities.
  • Experience with MasterSeries/Tekla, and demonstrated capability in managing and developing a team.
  • Competent in preparing design calculations to British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant guidance notes.
