I am delighted to be working with a global leader in radiation detection technology for the appointment of a Senior Firmware Engineer. This client develops handheld products for medical, nuclear, defence, and security sectors with a varied range.
They are now looking to expand their Firmware team and are looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer on a permanet, full time on site basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing & enhancing handheld products
- Requirements gathering
- Firmware design, development and testing
- Software configuration management
- Working as part of a multi-discipline team
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Good problem-solving skills, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Able to collaborate to support hardware design and development
- Able to easily pick up new technologies
Education/ Experience
Essential
- Strong Arm Cortex M4 bare-metal and RTOS embedded C firmware development
- Experience of communication technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB
- Experience developing peripherals including I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, ADC
Desirable
- IAR EWARM development environment
- NXP M4 and crossover processors
- Knowledge and experience of battery technology and management in handheld products
- Processor power saving modes
- Experience of working with radiation
- Embedded Linux and Yocto
- Motor control systems
- xgikmsk C++ and python
