Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our long standing client for the appointment of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis based in Newcastle.

This role is a shift position rotating days and nights.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of production machinery
  • Diagnose and fault-find mechanical and electrical issues
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Support continuous improvement and breakdown reduction activities
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards

Skills Required:

  • Open to a range of experience levels, including ex-forces / armed forces engineers
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with basic to intermediate electrical understanding
  • Confident working on industrial machinery
  • Experience with hydraulics is essential
  • PLC knowledge is beneficial but not essential
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently on shift
