Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our long standing client for the appointment of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis based in Newcastle.
This role is a shift position rotating days and nights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of production machinery
- Diagnose and fault-find mechanical and electrical issues
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Support continuous improvement and breakdown reduction activities
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards
Skills Required:
- Open to a range of experience levels, including ex-forces / armed forces engineers
- Strong mechanical knowledge with basic to intermediate electrical understanding
- Confident working on industrial machinery
- Experience with hydraulics is essential
- PLC knowledge is beneficial but not essential
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently on shift
