Jackson Hogg is supporting a local engineering client seeking skilled CNC Millers to join an experienced and dedicated production team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a time-served CNC Machinist who is committed to quality, precision, and continuous improvement.
As a CNC Miller, you will play a key role in ensuring components are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for producing complex components while supporting production targets and maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete machine schedules within the required timescales and correct drawing specifications.
- Work methodically through tasks while ensuring quality is never compromised.
- Follow all quality policies and procedures.
- Identify and report any quality or production issues to supervision.
- Maintain full product traceability throughout the machining process.
- Prepare, load, and set materials on machines safely and efficiently.
- Maximise machine utilisation while minimising downtime.
- Operate multiple machines when required.
- Mentor apprentices and colleagues when requested.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements at all times.
Experience & Skills
- Time-served CNC Miller/Machinist, ideally through a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Confident understanding of geometrical tolerances.
- Ability to program from drawings.
- Experience working to and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling heavy components safely.
- Experience in machining large fabrications.
