Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Stores Person to join the Engineering Department at Tees Dock.
Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, you will play a key role in managing engineering stores operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting engineering and operational teams, and maintaining efficient stock control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering stores inventory, monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate records.
- Carry out goods-in inspections and quality checks on incoming materials, parts and equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers to expedite orders and ensure timely delivery of critical engineering materials and components.
- Support engineering and operational teams by ensuring the right resources are available when required.
- Coordinate deliveries and build effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Maintain inventory management systems, generate reports and ensure accurate stock data is captured.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, including the safe storage and handling of hazardous materials.
- Conduct regular stores inspections and report any safety concerns or non-conformances.
- Operate departmental plant or vehicles when required to support day-to-day operations.
About You We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a busy engineering environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience within a stores, inventory, warehouse or engineering stores environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Experience using inventory management systems, ERP software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- An understanding of stock control processes and inventory management best practices.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment. What's on Offer
