Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our longstanding, returning client with the appointment of two Mechanical Fitter positions. We are actively looking to hire a mechanical fitter HGV and a mechanical fitter to focus on light goods.
This is an exciting time to join a growing business in the region. These roles are permanent day shift positions with extensive amounts of overtime available. On offer is a structured training and development plan in order for you to quickly progress into a multi-skilled mechanical professional.
The typical asset machinery is Heavy Plant, Kress Slab Carrier, CAT Based Heavy Plant Equipment, Kamag Skip Carriers, Kone SMV Forklifts, CAT Excavators, Bobcats, and Skid steers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspecting machines for defects, using specialist computer equipment;
- Undertaking routine inspections of engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, electrical systems, tyres and frames;
- Fault finding, reporting and prognosis of plant equipment, including; Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical Structural, Lubrication systems, Dismantling and repairing or replacing faulty components;
- Reassembling and testing components to ensure they’re working safely;
- Checking new equipment before it’s used on site.
Skills Required:
- You must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3, or to have Level 2 Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Level 2 Diploma in Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance/ Level 3 Diploma in Plant Maintenance or have served a recognised apprenticeship;
- It’s desirable to have a Mobile plant operator’s licence as well;
- Ideally, you will have experience of mechanical maintenance within a commercial or heavy engineering environment.
