- Initial day shift rate during training: £12.21 per hour
The Role
Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Paint Plant General Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Ferryhill. This role supports the day-to-day operation of the paint plant, covering both powder coating and wet paint processes, from job preparation through to packing finished components. You will work as part of a small team; however, the ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs without supervision is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Working on a powder coat and/or wet paint plant
- Selecting the correct paint from stock for each new job
- Jigging components ready for painting
- Masking parts in line with drawing and job specifications
- Packing finished parts to required standards
- Carrying out visual quality checks
- General housekeeping duties within the paint plant area
Candidate Requirements
- Ideally at least 1 year’s experience working on a powder coat or wet paint plant
- Able to work accurately and maintain high quality standards
- Comfortable working unsupervised within a small team environment
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and well organised
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
