Jackson Hogg is pleased to be partnering with PD Ports on the recruitment of a Freight Forwarder to join their team at the Felixstowe site. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established freight forwarding function within a well recognised logistics business.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Sea Freight import shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and high levels of customer service throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end Sea Freight import operations
- Handle customs clearance processes and import documentation
- Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, ports, customs authorities, and internal teams
- Ensure shipments are processed in line with customs regulations and company procedures
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage exceptions or delays
- Maintain accurate records and system updates
- Provide a high level of service across a varied customer account base
- Support handovers and continuity of service across existing accounts
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding
- Strong experience in Sea Freight imports (Road Freight imports also considered)
- Solid customs knowledge (qualifications in customs or imports desirable)
- Able to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, organised, and customer-focused
