Overview
Undertake and check detailed design and preparation of electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables for new and existing products, including electrical schematics, PLC equipment, and control panel layouts.
Assist senior engineers with the preparation of outline design schemes.
Produce electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, and supporting documentation under the direction of engineers.
Assist with the checking of documents and carry out detailed calculations.
Understand and interpret detailed electrical, hydraulic, process, and instrumentation drawings.
Plan, control, and undertake day-to-day electrical engineering tasks using Autodesk AutoCAD 2D software.
Assist with the execution of contracts to supply equipment or services.
Liaise with colleagues to ensure all electrical and instrumentation project deliverables required under contract are delivered in accordance with the project schedule.
Required Qualifications, Training & Skills
- Essential
- Level 4 HNC in Electrical Engineering (or similar/higher qualification).
- 1–2 years’ experience in an electrical design role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience using CAD software (AutoCAD 2D).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to adapt to change while progressing projects.
- Previous experience with onshore or offshore marine equipment.
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor to review layouts and provide feedback on installation equipment positioning.
General Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure company objectives are achieved.
- Comply with the Business Management System (BMS) and contribute to its continual improvement and effectiveness.
- Report any HSE risks or incidents to promote the health, safety, and well-being of yourself and others.
