Cost Engineer

Job Title: Cost Engineer Location: Project Site-Based (Billingham) Reports To: Construction Project Manager & Project Manager Employment Type: Full-time Please note for the first 3 months the role will be based out of the Blyth Office About the Role My client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Engineer to join our project team. This site-based role is critical in supporting the financial management and cost control of our construction and EPC projects. Reporting directly to the Construction Project Manager and Project Manager, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring effective cost reporting and control throughout the entire project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities * Ensure compliance with internal cost department processes and change management systems. * Maintain and manage electronic time management and expenses tracking systems at the project level. * Provide cost control support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost data. * Assist in managing all subcontractors and vendors from a cost perspective. * Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial reports in alignment with project progress. * Support in the compilation and submission of contract variations in collaboration with discipline team leaders. * Review and prepare interim client applications and cost reports. * Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly cost reports. * Act as the project’s main point of contact for all cost-related matters. Skills and Qualifications required What We’re Looking For Education: * Degree-level qualification is essential. * Working towards professional membership of an appropriate institution or body is desirable. Experience & Skills: * Proven experience in cost engineering within EPC and construction projects. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. * Excellent accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Solid understanding of change management and project controls
