Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our client going through an exciting growth phase with the appointment of an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. This is an onsite role, Monday - Friday based in Darlington. This role will play a key part in supporting the front end and detailed facility design including providing input to ensure the smooth commissioning phase, as well as ongoing operational support.
Job Description
- Collaborate with design and project teams in terms of front end and detailed design input, specification, and implementation of the facility's electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, control systems, and routing.
- Specify and influence plant layout, power distribution flows, and equipment selection.
- Manage and oversee electrical installations during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
- Participate in HAZOPs and operational readiness plans.
- Work closely with mechanical, process, C&I and operations teams to integrate electrical systems within the overall plant performance.
- Monitor, test, and commission electrical systems to support the transition from build to operational phases.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and modify electrical systems and equipment to optimise performance and reliability.
- Lead root cause analysis for electrical failures, implementing corrective and preventative measures.
- Prepare technical documentation including drawings, schematics, reports, and maintenance records.
Skills Required
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Professional Member of the IEE or similar
- CompEX HV authorised person
