Overview
CNC Operator - Stone / Quartz Manufacturing.
Location: Middlesbrough.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 2-shift rotation (06:00-14:30; 13:30-22:00).
Salary: £33,488 - £38,272 per annum (including shift allowance), dependent on experience.
The Role
As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for the machining and finishing of bespoke quartz and stone worktops, working to tight tolerances and high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and setting CNC machinery to cut, shape, and finish quartz and stone worktops
- Setting up machines, tooling, and CNC programs
- Reading and working from technical drawings, job cards, and digital work orders
- Inspecting finished products for defects, chips, or imperfections
- Ensuring all products meet company quality standards prior to dispatch or installation
- Loading and unloading stone slabs safely using appropriate lifting equipment
- Monitoring machine performance and carrying out basic adjustments
- Routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
- Working to production schedules and health & safety requirements
- Collaborating with fabricators, installers, and designers to ensure product quality
- Participating in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
- Previous experience within the stone industry (granite and/or quartz) is highly desirable
- Strong ability to read technical drawings and job specifications
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- A reliable, team-oriented approach
